1. may (just) as well do sth.
may as well do sth. 表示“不妨;倒不如”，用來(lái)提出建議。如：
We may as well have a try and see if it can be done.
我們不妨試一試，看看能否辦成。
There is nothing to do, so I may as well go to bed.
沒(méi)什么事可做，我還是上床睡覺(jué)好了。
[注意]
might as well也可表示“不妨”，但語(yǔ)氣更委婉一些。其也是may as well的過(guò)去時(shí)形式。如：
Since she had come up to London, she might as well speak her mind.
既然她已來(lái)到了倫敦，她還不如說(shuō)出真心話(huà)。
2. As far as I know ...
as far as 表示“就……而言;從……來(lái)看”。as far as I know就我知道的而言;as far as I can see就我能看到的而言;as far as they are
concerned 就他們而論;as far as the eye can reach 就視力所及。如：
As far as I know, he isn't coming to the party.

as far as還可表示“到某一指定地點(diǎn);一直到(某地)”。如：

I'll see you off as far as the airport.

3. That sort of thing.
That sort of thing. 獨(dú)立使用時(shí)，為一省略結(jié)構(gòu)。如：
Home is happiness and sweetness. That sort of thing(=Home is that sort of thing).
家庭意味著幸福、溫馨，就是這個(gè)樣子。
這一結(jié)構(gòu)通常應(yīng)該是and that sort of thing，表示“等等諸如此類(lèi)的事”。如：
The store sells socks, gloves, caps and that sort of thing.
這家商店經(jīng)營(yíng)襪子、手套、帽子等同類(lèi)商品。
